You might have started this year with a bang and renewed energy. In fact you had so many plans, goals, high hopes, expectations. Some may have worked out and others might not have worked out. Amidst all the failures, disappointments, setbacks among others, there’s so much to be grateful for. You are alive, you breathe freely, you are healthy, your strength is remarkable, you can smile, you can laugh, you are at peace, you have access to basic amenities. Thanksgiving is all in the little things we seem to overlook. The daily mercies God grants us; safety, security, protection, benevolence of strangers, a job or school to attend, a business to run, breakthroughs among others.
Despite our frailties, grace abounds for us. Grace speaks for us when we don’t deserve it and we should never attribute our blessings to our strength, gifts, talents etc. Yes hard work is paramount but God blesses us with these things and He can decide to take them when He so pleases. Some people may not have the things you enjoy but they have a heart of gratitude. Stop complaining. You don’t look like what you have been through. Whether you are or have been broken, healed or healing from things you don’t talk about, most of your plans didn’t work out, it has taken grace to bring you this far. You are blooming and growing. You may have family and friends who support your dreams and others who may not, but you have come this far to nurse the thought of giving up or whining. I had lots of goals this year but not everything turned out as planned. I achieved some of these goals but others seem far fetched. Yet in all of this, it is good to give thanks. This year, you may not have figured everything out, you might have incurred so many losses, you might have hit rock bottom and ought to start over but give thanks in the good, the bad and the ugly.
Sometimes there may be no words to describe how you feel but just give thanks, there’s a beautiful mystery about it. Today, 1st November is page 278 of 2018. We still have 78 days to end of the year. Make it remarkable. On another note, it’s 10 days to my book launch and 28 days to my birthday. I don’t know about you but God has been good charley! Give Him thanks🙏🙏🙌
